Crafting Love with Knotted Heart

Knotted Heart Macreme started as a small business in May, 2024, but the story starts WAY before then!

In 2023, I (Cynthia the owner, artist, and creative force behind Knotted Heart) began experiencing heart tremors, frequent migraines, and major depressive episodes. After ruling out medical causes, my therapist and I finally realized it was stemming from my often stressful work with 6 graders in the community. My therapist highly recommended I return to my artistic roots and create something that would bring beauty and calm for at least an hour a day. Because painting, drawing, and writing required an overwhelming amount of either cleaning up afterward or uninterrupted attention, I decided to try out macreme.

In addition to macreme being something I could do while having a conversation with my daughters, I was looking forward to making something to help take care of my plants! My cat at the time was convinced he was Tarzan and my plants were his jungle...which wasn't great for his digestive system OR the health of my poor plant babies.

In early 2024, I made the choice to begin selling my plant hangers at markets around the Fountain, Colorado Springs, and Denver areas. Since then, my plant hangers have found their way into three brick-and-mortar locations!
